LASG INDUCTS NEW TOWN PLANNERS, ARCHITECTS


The Lagos State Government has formally inducted over 80 newly employed Town Planning Officers and Architects into the Civil Service with an orientation programme. Speaking at the training programme which was held at the Folarin Coker Staff Clinic Conference Hall, Secretariat, Alausa, the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako disclosed that the young officers, employed by the State Government, were being injected into the service to augment the available staff strength in order to favourably position the Ministry for effective and efficient discharge of its statutory responsibilities. He described the appointment of vibrant young officers as a similitude of rebirth, reawakening and repositioning of the Ministry for better handling of the emerging dynamics of the Lagos Megalopolis, urging them to deploy their skills and knowledge to enhance the functions of the Ministry and its Agencies. While enjoining the new intakes to get acquainted with the Public Service Rules and Physical Planning laws as well as regulations to guide their conduct, Salako counselled them on lawful and dignified conduct. "Needless to emphasise that you are to represent the State Government as a brand ambassador of sound character, relatable, approachable, reliable, presentable and commendable", he said. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe enjoined the new officers to make the best use of the rare opportunity given to them by the State Government by being diligent, punctual and loyal. #LASG #ForAGreaterLagos
