Lagos Gives Practice Software To WAEC, BECE Students
The Lagos State Ministry of Education, in partnership with Chronicles Software Development Company, is giving out SuccessBOX, an educational practice software, to students preparing for West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) as schools resume nationwide. The Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, explained that the initiative was designed to enable students revise extensively and adequately prepare for the forthcoming WASSCE and BECE examinations scheduled to commence on 17th and 24th August 2020 respectively. The Commissioner disclosed that the SuccessBOX application is a practice test software comprising of past WASSCE and BECE questions and answers aimed at supporting SS3 and JS3 students across the country in preparation for their examinations, “The Computer-Based Test (CBT) preparation software has over 15 years accumulated question bank and answers, with an instant result or feedback, performance analytics and it works 100% offline after download and activation”, she noted. The Chairman, Board of Directors of Chronicles Software and renowned management consultant, Mr. Foluso Phillips, said the SuccessBox is a great concept that will immensely impact Lagos State students positively and enable practice with precision to excel in their examinations. He disclosed that the company has given out various cash scholarship rewards worth millions of Naira to top 10 outstanding subscribers who had performed excellently in their examinations, as part of its annual Mega Excellence Awards programme. According to Phillips, “The first recipient of the award, who used SuccessBOX in JS3 examination, scored nine A1s in her WASSCE and is currently an undergraduate studying Medicine. Since then, close to 10 other students have benefitted from the awards. In 2019, the event witnessed a variety of rewards for excellence through scholarships and other incentives. Two SuccessBOX users who scored 343 in the last UTME shared the cash prize of N1 million, at N500,000 each”. The CEO, Chronicles Software, Mr. Oluwakoyejo Oluwatosin said: “Our goal is to empower 1.5 million students with our robust testing platform following several months of inactivity due to lockdown. The initiative will assist students to revise extensively in order to be better prepared for excellent performance in their examinations”.
