Gov Sanwo-Olu Felicitates With Muslims On Eid-el-Fitr
The Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has rejoiced with Muslim faithfuls as they mark this year's Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement on his official twitter handle, the Governor urged Lagosians to celebrate moderately.
"On behalf of my wife and entire family, I rejoice with all Muslims on the occasion of this year's Eid-el-Fitri.
Traditionally, the end of Ramadan comes with fanfare and lots of celebrations with families and friends.
However, these activities, which are a reflection of the joy and happiness of the season cannot hold this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As we celebrate at home with our families, I want us to remember that our fight against COVID-19 is not over. Let us reflect on the last couple of months as individuals, as a State and as a nation.
We should also remember our health care workers and thousands of COVID-19 patients who would have loved to be at home to celebrate with their families at this moment.
To reflect the spirit of the current global pandemic, I implore all to celebrate moderately with our families. It is my prayers that the end of Ramadan brings joy to every Lagosian irrespective of religious inclination.
Governor, Lagos State.
